How to Lose Weight Fast and Safely


If you’re wondering how to lose weight fast yet safely, one of the secrets is rethinking your definition of the word “fast!” If you’re someone who’s always tempted by the latest gimmicky diet, such as the Cotton Candy Diet (I just made that up, but for all I know there is one), where you restrict your calories severely, you’re putting yourself at risk for all kinds of problems.

Many people can’t stick long with extremely low calorie diets, and those are the lucky ones. The dangers of crash diets are fairly well known, and even if you do manage to lose weight with them, you usually end up gaining the weight back -and then some in many cases- because it throws your whole metabolism off. Reducing calories too much slows down your metabolism to make up for the lack of calories, which is really the opposite of what you want for long term weight loss.

So, if you really want to lose weight fast AND safely, just be a little patient and recognize that if you make some real changes in your lifestyle, eat a healthy but sensible diet and exercise regularly, you can lose weight quite rapidly but gradually. If you can lose 20 pounds in, say, 6 months rather than the 2 weeks that the crash diet promised, you’ll be doing fine. Remember, times goes fast, so if you can lose a little weight every week or two, you’ll be losing it fast but safely.
