peanut butter, almonds, coconut, they have good fats and medium chain triglycerides
There are certain essential fats you need in your diet. These are sometimes refered to as EFAs (essential fatty acids). The ones you really need to consider are from the Omega group (Omega-3, Omega-6 & Omega-9).
Omega-3s: These are fats found in most cold water fish like salmon as well as some grains like flax seeds. It’s also found in flax oil.
Omega-6: These are fats found in nuts, cereals and most grains.
Omega-9: These are the fats found in vegetable products like olives and avocados. It’s also present in the oils these foods produce as well as grapeseed oil.
All of these fats are very good for you, are packed with anti-oxidents and are heart healthy. If you find you don’t like some of them you can get some EFAs in capsule form as a suppliment.
You should also be aware that all of the foods listed here are high in calories due to their fat content. These should be eaten in moderation.
Fish has good fat. How about adding peanut butter to your oatmeal? Cooking with some light olive oil is good too!
Almonds are one of the best nuts to eat. use olive oil, grape seed oil for cooking. Soynut butter is yummy as are any of the nut butter -cashews etc…
Flax seed oil can be drizzled on oatmeal and other foods and is wonderful for your body.
NUTS!!! I eat a handful of almonds every day. Since i started my new eating plan which includes about 20%fats I have felt great. Fish, Avocado, Nuts, Natural peanut butter are mny fave sources.
I also recomend taking a fish oil supplement, like omega 3 and 6 tablets.
tuna! well any fish really with omega 3. Polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are the good fats we need
I agree with nuts and seeds like sunflowers. You could also use olive oil to cook with, or eat olives if you like them.
I also have done away with processed foods. It sure has helped me feel better. Congrats on your healthy choice!
